Have you started generating your own MLM leads for your network marketing business yet?

I firmly believe that we have come into a new era in network marketing.  The days of hotel meetings, calling parties, and buying expensive MLM leads are behind us.

Almost all of them will turn to buying expensive MLM leads.  This is what I was instructed to do, and the downhill spiral starts.

However, if you are generating your own MLM leads, you are establishing a real business.  One that you are in complete control of.

Let me explain further how this business can actually work.  You set-up a lead capture page on the internet.  Drive some targeted traffic to it, and start building up a subscriber email list.  Over time you drip, drip, drip the information about your company to these prospects.  Some will join today, some next week, some a year from now.  Each person has their own time.  By tapping into the great power of the internet, you can establish a relationship over time that can grow eternally.

By building your own list, you are also establishing a real business model.  You see, once you have a list of subscribers you can really print money at will.  For instance, say you find a very good service or course on the internet that relates to MLM or Network marketing.  By applying the affiliate marketing model, you can recommend this product to your list, and get paid a nice commission if they purchase it.

This model allows for you to make money outside of your primary opportunity.  It allows  you to survive financially long enough to really “make it” in network marketing.  It allows for you to get to the point of enjoying the leverage of a large downline!

I remember the first day I joined my first MLM company.  You see, with my business kit they also provided my “very own” web site.  I was so excited!  I could see the customers coming in from Google, Yahoo and MSN to my web site and buying tons of products.  I could see people interested in a business simply finding me by a Google search and signing up under me.

I had this image that this business, with my company supplied website, would build itself!  What I soon discovered was exactly the reverse… nobody ever visited, except me!

You see there are several problems with company provided web sites, lets take a look at a couple of them, and then consider a solution.

Product Sales & Search Engines
The greatest problem with a company provided replicated web site is that it is exactly the same as every other associate in your company.  Since it is exactly the same, it appears as duplicate content to the search engines.  Search engines hate duplicate content, so they only rank a couple of the web sites highly, and the rest are buried on page 85 of the results never to be noticed!

Business Opportunity Seekers
The competition is just too great to expect your company replicated site to rank well on the major search engines when people are researching a business to join.  On top of that, network marketing truly does boil down to establishing relationships.  It is the relationship and the MLM system you provide that will cause people to be interested in joining your MLM business.

Once you have this relationship, then you are able to send the prospect to your company replicated site to make a purchase or sign up.  That is the only way that a replicated MLM website will work for you and your team.

You have to have a MLM system in place that will do the following 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in full automation.  Your MLM system must provide product information, business information, and display a system that a potential prospect could see themselves plugging into.  A company provided web site will never do this.  Period!

So which is more effective, having multiple streams of income or concentrating on one primary business?

If you have not seen a web site like this you definitely will.  Basically it is a web site that has you sign up for 10 to 15 business opportunities. The thought being that as each new individual joins, they will also sign up for all the opportunities.

This will not work over the long-run!

Certainly it works for the person that made the system, but for you it just will not work.  Being a network marketer is difficult enough just concentrating on one business.  Just try to imagine applying the equivalent effort spread across 15 businesses!

The most effective way to succeed is to concentrate on one business, but have a MLM system that generates income and funds your business at every step of the process.

Start writing articles today.  By writing just one simple article that is at least 250 words each day you will start to build your MLM business.  All you have to do is submit it to EzineArticles.com and it will be distributed far and wide.  Make sure you have a resource box that sells to drive traffic back to your capture page, and start generating targeted MLM leads.

3. Blog everyday, or every other if possible.  This won’t bring in traffic instantly, but over time can become a huge generator of traffic and targeted MLM leads for your business.  From my experience it will really start to kick in when you have around  50 – 100 posts or so in your blog.  I try to keep my blog posts generic and teach readers something of value.  Or you can set up a blog just about your MLM company.  Post company news, and events which will help you to get ranked high in the search engines for your MLM opportunity.
