2. Start writing articles today.  By writing just one simple article that is at least 250 words each day you will start to build your MLM business.  All you have to do is submit it to EzineArticles.com and it will be distributed far and wide.  Make sure you have a resource box that sells to drive traffic back to your capture page, and start generating targeted MLM leads.

3. Blog everyday, or every other if possible.  This won’t bring in traffic instantly, but over time can become a huge generator of traffic and targeted MLM leads for your business.  From my experience it will really start to kick in when you have around  50 – 100 posts or so in your blog.  I try to keep my blog posts generic and teach readers something of value.  Or you can set up a blog just about your MLM company.  Post company news, and events which will help you to get ranked high in the search engines for your MLM opportunity.

Just applying these three simple techniques, will cost you only dollars a month, but allow you to generate a significant income both from your primary MLM company, and outside it using the funded proposal system.

Truthfully my friend was just the latest of a long list of people that had called or emailed me the same question. And my answer was, and always is the same….

Run, don’t walk, run as quick as you can from this type of opportunity!

There is a reason that we call this business “Network Marketing”. It is all about establishing a network of reps/distributors that both consume and sell the products that we market. It’s about establishing long-lasting relationships and working collectively to build a successful business for both you and your team.

These “replicated auto-building” sites are nothing but scams designed to get your money. For example how exactly are these downlines built? Who generates the traffic? Who does the training? It still boils down to you working at your business.

Does this story sound familiar to your MLM business?

A Blog for Branding
As we have talked about previously, an important aspect of MLM marketing online is branding yourself and your system.  A MLM Blog is a really simple method of generating content in the form of small articles that allow you to brand yourself and your system over time.  It is probably the easiest way to establish your own web site and will also generate visitors from the search engines over time.

For my warm market I have a business card that just has my unique address printed on it.  Whenever I come across somebody that would like to know more about the business, I give them a card and they go check out the web site.

I also use if for prospecting online.  Immediately after someone subscribes to my list on my CAPTURE PAGE, they are sent an e-mail with the link to this presentation and a free e-book in it.  So the first thing they are exposed to is a very high quality presentation on why network marketing makes so much sense.

Day-after-day I get “pitches” from other network marketers attempting to sell me on their MLM business opportunity. Generally they spend just about all of thier time telling me how great their product is.

So do people actually join your business because of the product?

Astonishingly the answer is Yes and NO!

Lets begin with the “Yes” part first. In my company I know that around 75% of the associates were product consumers before they turned associates. I have a belief that most of them converted to associates just to get the product cheaper, since they were using the product, daily.  Nevertheless, they didn’t join the company to truly develop a business.  Typically you want new associates that wish to be business builders.

Now lets flip to the NO part.  People join your business, not because of the unbelievable product, but instead they join your business either because of YOU or YOUR MLM SPONSORING SYSTEM.

The other day I got a great inquiry from one of my internet network marketing friends. They wrote:

“I’m relatively new to internet network marketing, less than two months… How do I provide value when I don’t have a MLM downline yet.  I definitely don’t want to go after my friends and family.”

His question truly hit home with me.  You see when I first got going in my network marketing company I wanted to work entirely in the “cold market” and not pester my friends and family.

So I began buying leads and calling them.  I spent bundle, and hours of time. What did I have to show for it 4 months later?

One new downline member, and a bank account several hundred dollars lighter.

My upline continued saying to me,  come on the training calls, adjust your posture, etc. etc.

I continued returning to the same question. How do I show value without a MLM downline? And moreover, how will this ever be duplicatible.

If I ever signed somebody up, they’d have to have a large bank account and a VERY solid self-will to do what I was doing.  And let’s face it, some people are effective at talking to other people and some struggle.  Certainly everybody can learn, but will they learn quick enough to remain with the business?

One day I awakened and figured something out.  It hit me like a ton of bricks.  I mean what I discovered has completely revolutionized my network marketing business.

When I eventually hit rock bottom, completely burned-out out by spending heaps of hard cash on useless leads, I stopped working on my business.  I spent the following several months educating myself, studying what I was required to learn, to really make this business work.

The spark came once I chose to switch the manner in which viewed my network marketing business.  You see I had never viewed it as “MY BUSINESS”.  I finally stood up and began behaving like a leader.  I created web sites and autoresponder e-mail series.  I acted like a leader, and you know what, prospects began calling me. These were not MLM leads that I had bought, I had generated them myself.

When I had them in my system, I simply presented them what it is that I do.  They saw value in my system and could image themselves plugging into it.  Just because you don’t have a MLM downline, does not mean that you don’t have value. By the way you behave or speak with prospects can demonstrate to them the value you bring.  People desire to follow a leader.

So what if you don’t know a great deal about internet network marketing?  If you know anything, even the least bit, you probably know more than that 90% of the industry.  This is value.  This is value you will be able to convey to your prospects that are seeking a change.

The bottom line is that you don’t have to have a MLM downline to provide value.  Acquire the skills that are necessary to succeed, and that becomes your value.  Start out small, take baby steps, start behaving like a leader today.

If all you do is tell yourself that you are a leader, and you have unique skills to offer, people will start being attracted to you and look for you to lead them. Switch your mind-set, and good things will come about in your MLM business.
